2024, BECA marked its third consecutive appearance at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Eight Future Leaders earned the opportunity to attend the prestigious festival and present on the global stage. As winners of BECA’s Cannes Lions Competition, they led impactful discussions on topics such as the evolving role of AI in marketing, the influence of Black consumers, and strategies for companies to elevate emerging Black talent.
This year’s presence was even more special, as BECA Members and Future Leader alumni served as jurists and guest speakers, further showcasing the growing influence of BECA’s community in shaping the future of marketing and creativity. In total, 18 BECA Members and 13 Future Leaders gathered in Cannes, making this year another unforgettable experience filled with innovation, learning, and connection.

Day 1 of Cannes!
BECA Members and Future Leaders made a strong start at Cannes Lions 2024! The day opened with inspiring insights from our Founder & CEO, Jerri DeVard, at LinkedIn’s Black Joy Brunch. Later, she joined Bozoma Saint John for a panel at The Female Quotient, discussing digital transformation, innovation, and leadership. Our Future Leaders also shined, presenting their AI tool designed to predict campaign success for marginalized communities.

Our Future Leaders had the opportunity to gather aboard the FCB yacht, creating a vibrant space for connection and collaboration before taking the main stage at Cannes Lions.
BECA x CC:DC
The BECA Playbook Future Leaders took the spotlight at CC:DC Inkwell Beach, a vibrant hub hosted by the Cannes Can: Diversity Collective (CC:DC) where creatives from diverse backgrounds converge to connect, network, and acquire knowledge. With a lineup of thought-provoking panel discussions, enriching workshops, and valuable networking opportunities, Inkwell Beach serves as an empowering platform for diverse voices from across the globe to be amplified and honored. Additionally, BECA Founder & CEO Jerri DeVard participated as a panelist in the “Access Is Everything” discussion at Inkwell, enriching the conversations and insights shared throughout the event.
