Charles Tribbett, III, is Vice Chairman of the Russell Reynolds Associates, previous co-lead of the Board & CEO Advisory Partners, and a key member of the Chicago office. He is a senior advisor and consultant to corporate boards and CEOs in corporate governance and fiduciary responsibilities. Charles is an expert in CEO and executive succession planning, board succession planning and refreshment, board and committee evaluations, CEO recruitment, board diversity, and governance benchmarking. He advises numerous Fortune 300 companies on new CEO recruitment, search, and succession planning, as well as board member alignment, and CEO and activist investor relations. Charles has led leading CEO assignments such as Starbucks, CH Robinson Worldwide, Cardinal Health, Avnet, Walgreens, CDW, Motorola, TIAA, Raytheon, Bank of America, and ACI Worldwide. He has also led board director searches at McDonalds Motorola, Disney, SuperValu, United Airlines, Target, Herman Miller, Hilton, Royal Caribbean, Hyatt, CDW, Abbott Laboratories, Eli Lilly & Company, The New York Times, and Boeing.
Professional Experience: Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Charles was a corporate lawyer for several years with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.
Education: Charles received his BA from Marquette University, with honors and Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his JD from the University of Virginia.
Professional Affiliation: Charles serves on several boards, including the Northern Trust Company, where he chairs the Compensation & Benefits committee and is a member of the Governance and Nominating committee. He is also a member of the boards of RUSH System and Northwestern University, as well as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board for Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
