Celebrating the Inaugural Graduation of The BECA Playbook Class of 2023

Overview

What is The BECA Playbook?

The BECA Playbook is a two-year journey that will transform the future of marketing by investing in promising Black marketing talent, providing them with the keys to success for achieving and excelling in C-suite roles. The BECA Playbook will propel the careers of participants through curated learning experiences led by our BECA members, 38 iconic Black leaders from the world’s most influential companies.

Our objective is to unlock the potential of Black marketers through the “secret” tactics and networks that were previously not readily accessible. The BECA Playbook will allow Future Leaders (participants) to fill the gaps in necessary skills and knowledge, increase confidence in their personal brands, and build an unmatched network of Black peers and executives.

GOALS

Our objective is to unlock the potential of Black marketers through the “secret” tactics and networks that were previously not readily accessible.

Key Principles

The BECA Playbook will allow participants to fill the gaps in necessary skills and knowledge, increase confidence in their personal brands, and build an unmatched network of Black peers and executives.

Safe Space

Using your identity

An understanding that participants aren’t “just” Black marketers but a sum of their individual identities, which we will use to customize the program and allow for spontaneous, yet deliberate, discourse

Safe Space

Enabling a sense of belonging

Through all interactions – offline and online – promote a safe, trusted environment for Black professionals to be their authentic selves among peers and guided by world-class Black marketing executives

Purposeful network

Providing 1:1 access to iconic Black marketers

Create opportunities for deep engagement (e.g. intimate settings and 1:1 mentorship) with world-class Black CxOs who bring expertise and empathy for the Black experience.

Purposeful network

Forging meaningful personal connections

Use cohort-based learning and interactions with peers to stretch learning and promote deep, lifelong connections currently missing in the Black professional experience

Curated Learning

Delivering a CxO-Approved curriculum

Experiental sessions designs with input from the best minds of marketing today with a laser focus on what matters most and taking each participant’s uniqueness into account

Curated Learning

Utilizing less buzzwords, more action

Allow participants to take on their role as future Black marketing leaders in simulated real-world environments (e.g. a campaign pitch, CEO presentation)
