The BECA Playbook kicked off its third cohort at Paramount HQ in NYC!
This kickoff marked the beginning of an exciting two-year journey for the C’25 Future Leaders.

C’23 Future Leaders planned and executed an offsite for an unforgettable weekend retreat of bonding, community volunteering, and great fun in Phoenix, Arizona!
From fostering fellowship to engaging in meaningful discussions, this retreat was a transformative experience focused on personal and professional growth while strengthening relationships for decades to come.
BECA Member Kenny Mitchell hosted the LA Playbook Connect at Soho House Malibu!
With the Pacific Ocean as a magical backdrop, BECA Members and Future Leaders came together for an evening filled with camaraderie, shared wisdom, and endless laughter.
2023
The power and impact of our organization was fueled in year two.
Future Leaders gathered in NYC for our first regional Playbook Connect.
The joyous night was hosted by BECA Founding Member Kirk McDonald.
BECA hosted an intimate session with Bozoma Saint John on her memoir “The Urgent Life.”
As a part of The BECA Playbook, Founding Member Bozoma Saint John shared the inspiration and writing process behind her latest memoir with Members and Future Leaders.
2022
The second cohort of The BECA Playbook launched December 2022.
The new cohort includes 25 Future Leaders representing 13 companies.
Spike Lee was interviewed by BECA Founder, Jerri DeVard, for a conversation titled “Off the Record.”
They discussed the power of storytelling and amplifying their experiences through art and culture.
We hosted a panel discussion on the State of Black-Owned Media with industry experts.
Speakers included representatives from AMG, Black Enterprise, EBONY, Group Black, Revolt, and Urban One.
New additions bring our membership total to 38.
We welcomed five new BECA Members into the family.
Bringing vision and expertise from the non-profit sector
Loucia Hamilton became our first Executive Director.
Our Inaugural Manifest Gala in Miami sold out in 4 short weeks.
Our community came together to celebrate and honor Debra Lee, Roz Brewer, and Deloitte.
BECA Members provided Future Leaders with sage advice and guidance.
Future Leaders received signed copies of “Recipes for Joyous Living: A Story of Inspiration,” written by BECA Founding Member Julie Spencer Washington and her mother, Sulie Spencer.

We fully sponsored eight Future Leaders to the week-long Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, in Nice, France.
Our first year was groundbreaking. Filled with industry defining accomplishments and pride filled moments.
2021
Our first cohort of 24 Future Leaders joined the BECA community.
We launched The BECA Playbook, a 2-year journey to guide Future Leaders to the C-suite.
Best-selling author Ursula Burns joined us.
We discussed her book, “Where You Are is Not Who You Are.”
We gathered bright minds to discuss big topics.
Members enjoyed “The Board of Directors Journey” session.
In December 2021,
BECA Founding Members met in-person for the first time to advance our mission, network, and fellowship.
Following our launch, BECA was celebrated in the press for our organization’s mission to impact DE&I in the marketing industry, while our Members were highlighted for their leadership and accomplishments.
ADAge, Bloomberg, Essence, Fast Company, Inc., Marketing Brew, Savoy, and others profiled BECA.
22 BECA Members were profiled for “Marketer Must Read.”
BECA was the first feature story in a new series from LinkedIn.
We began our journey as allied C-suite executives.
Growing from 26 Founding Members to 33 total Members by the end of year one.
